[Acts 9, Proverbs 16]
H – Acts 9:4, “And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?”
E – One With Christ!
This passage is eye opening to the relationship a Christian has with Christ. Paul had been persecuting Christians. He approved Stephen’s execution (8:1), he lead the persecution of Jerusalem (8:2), and he was headed to Damascus to do the same (9:2). Paul breathed out threats against, beat, and murdered Christians (9:1). Yet, he physically never saw Jesus or laid his hands on Him. Or did he?
According to Christ we are part of His Body. We are one together, with Christ being the head.
1 Corinthians 12:12, “For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.”
1 Corinthians 12:27, “Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.”
This is why Jesus, in Spirit, could ask Saul (Paul), “why are you persecuting me?” To persecute Christ Body is to persecute Christ himself.
This should let us know the value that Christ has for those that follow Him. We are considered one together in a relationship that binds us for eternity. He loves His body and I’m part of it.
A – I’m part of Christ body and I should view myself as such. He is in me and I am in Him. Therefore, I should protect this body; spiritually, physically, and emotionally. I shouldn’t let anything else take root that is not holy and righteous before Him.
R – Lord God, thank you for allowing me to be part of your body, part of your family. It is truly the greatest honor I have. Lord help me to protect myself and do nothing to hinder or harm the body. I want to grow in you and be used by you for your Glory.
In Jesus Name!
